Easy Fishing Line Method:

Many knives have a relatively small tang hole. This can make it difficult to slip through doubled over cordage. If this is the case, we recommend trying the fishing line method. Simply loop fishing string through the top of your lanyard slip knot. The cordage *should be much easier to pull through. Once trough, adjust the loop to your desired position. The fishing line can help with this as well.

Heat Shrink Methods:

For all heat shrink attachment methods, please be sure to heat well. Be careful when sealing as the material will be hot. We are not responsible for any injuries related to using heat shrink. Allow adequate time to for the internal adhesive to dry. For a better hold you can apply a few drops of super glue inside the heat shrink or on the lanyard material before sliding the tubing into place.

Small Heat Shrink Method:

*A piece of heat shrink is included with every lanyard purchase. You can use a heat gun, lighter or hair dryer to activate the adhesive within the heat shrink material. For a better hold, you can apply a few drops of super glue inside the heat shrink or on the lanyard material before sliding the tubing into place.

Please carefully select the ideal location for your connection. Some tang holes are smaller than others. If this is the case with your knife, it's often better to cut the loop on your lanyard towards the side instead of the top. This way, the heat shrinked section does not have to pass through the tang hole. We do not accept returns of cut lanyards.

Advanced Knot & Shrink Method:

*A piece of heat shrink is included with every lanyard purchase. You can use a heat gun, lighter, or hair dryer to activate the adhesive within the heat shrink material. For a better hold you can apply a few drops of super glue inside the heat shrink tubing or on the lanyard material before sliding the tubing over the desired location. The piece of heat shrink included might be larger than needed. It can be trimmed down with scissors to a size that best suits your needs.

Please carefully select the ideal location for your knot and heat shrink before cutting your lanyard. Some tang holes are smaller than others. For the below method, start by adding your heat shrink to an open end of the cordage. The tie the same knot shown in the "Intermediate Knot Method". Once tied, cut your loose ends (singe if desired), side your heat shrink material down the cordage and over the knot. Heat until the material is formed around your knot for increased durability. The heat shrink material will be hot once heated. Please allow it to dry and cool.

Advanced Large Heat Shrink Method:

*A piece of heat shrink is inlcuded with every lanyard purchase. You can use a heat gun, lighter, or hair dryer to connect the two ends and shrink the material. The piece of heat shrink inlcuded might be larger than needed. It can be trimmed down with scissors to a size that best suits your needs. When using heat shrink, be sure to allow time for the internal adhestive to set. For a better seal you can even add a few drops of super glue inside the heat shrink or on the lanyard material.

Please carefully select the ideal location for the heat shrink before cutting your lanyard. Some tang holes are smaller than others. If this is the case with your knife, it's often better to cut the lanyard loop on the side of the paracord or leather instead of on the top. This way, the heat shrinked section does not have to pass through the tang hole. The heat shrink material will be hot once heated. Please allow it to dry and cool. We do not accept returns of cut lanyards.

This large tubing method is typically bes whe you are running sections of paracord or leather horizontally and the strands are overlapping.
